Persona 2 Innocent Sin PSP Coming This Month

Persona 2 Innocent Sin is a game released on 1999 (12 years back) for the PSX platform that never got released on North America. Atlus is now reviving the series on the PSP platform in full English translation for NA. It's basically another arc of the Persona 2 game. Another version has actually been released called Person 2 Eternal Punishment.



The setting happens on Sumaru City, Japan in a school called Seven Sisters High School. A group of high school students finds their reality being twisted by rumors. The protagonist wears an emblem which was rumored to have been cursed and will disfigure one's face. The  rumor became true, and more string of rumors also became true following that. In order to bring back things to the way they were, they must call on their inner strengths (personas).



Persona 2 Innocent Sin for PSP will have video and audio enhancements. The game will be taking advantage of the PSP's 16:8 screen ratio. Players will also have the choice to select between the original and fully remixed soundtrack. Atlus said that there will be a new interface and sidequests on the climax theatre.



Persona 2 Innocent Sin PSP release date is on September 20, 2011. The game is rated T (Teen) and you can pre-order the game at PlayAsia.

PlayStation Network Outage Extends To 6 Consecutive Days

Much has been brought to Sony's attention as the PlayStation Network has been down for 6 consecutive days now and counting. Aside from multiple gamers complaining, Sony doesn't know if customer credit card information has been compromised.

The PlayStation Network Outage is a drastic move by Sony in order to prevent and investigate a recent incident about external intrusion. According to Sony, re-building the system is part of their move to restore their infrastructure, which would hopefully include additional security once it goes back up.

As of April 25, 2011, Sony has not commited as to when the PSN Outage will be fixed. While online play is drastically affected, there are still a lot of games that gamers can play offline.

The PlayStation Network has been down since April 20, 2011 and Sony has been working around the clock since then to restore it.

It is rumored that the Custom Firmware (CFW) might have paved the way for credit card fraud, thus the reason for the outage. This has NOT BEEN CONFIRMED by Sony and is only a rumor. The issue about credit cards and other personal information is also still under thorough investigation.

Dissidia 012 PSP | Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy

Dissidia 012 Duodecim is an upcoming game for the PSP. It is sequel to the first game, Dissidia Final Fantasy which debuted back in 2008 (also for the PSP).

In Dissidia Final Fantasy, the story revolved around the goddess of harmony (Cosmos), and the god of dicord (Chaos). Each has summoned warriors to fight alongside them and there goes our Final Fantasy characters.

In Dissidia 012 PSP the conflict continuous between the two gods and warriors are once again summoned. Aside from the new characters that players will be able to play in the game, Dissidia 012 Duodecim also includes new game modes, story missions, and features such as alternate costumes and enhanced combat features.

Dissidia 012 Duodecim also introduces a new assist system which allows players to call another character in combat. Some characters such as Aerith (available as downloadable content) are available only as an assist while some old Dissidia characters and more are playable in a mode called Dissidia Duodecim Prologus (available through PSN for about $3). Music from different Final Fantasy games are also incorporated in the game such as Jenova's theme from Final Fantasy VII.

One of the most surprising things we've seen is the transition between the graphed/grid stages during Dissidia Final Fantasy to the world map system in Dissidia 012. This is really cool! Even cooler feature includes the Original Quest Mode, which allows players to create their own quests and share it with others.

To be honest, we didn't like the first game much... But this one looks very exciting! Especially that Tifa is in it! By the way, the game preserves its fighting game-like nature and speaking of its battle system, there is the EX Modes which makes some characters transform and make them faster or stronger. The EX Mode can be entered when the EX Guage is full. Every character can perform a powerful attack while in EX Mode called the EX Burst. In EX Burst, the player has to timely press a series of keys(buttons) that will appear on the screen.

NBA 2K11 and Michael Jordan Updates

NBA 2K11, every basketball fans and sports fans gamers are waiting for its upcoming release. NBA2K11 is being developed by 2k sports and the first NBA video game that would feature Michael Jordan as a fully playable player in your roster. We'll also get an NBA 2K11 PS2 version aside from those which will be released for the PC, PS3, PSP, Wii, and XBox 360.

NBA 2K11 will also feature some in-game reward system which are basically... Cyber shoes like the Air Jordan series. There's even this feature in the game called The Jordan challenge which consists of 10 games which is about MichaelJordan's NBA career such as Michael Jordan's rookie year, the timewhere he scored 69 points, the 1991 NBA finals etc. In this feature,you don't just play basketball and win the game... You have to play theway Michael Jordan played each game!

Upon completing the 10 games, another feature is unlocked called MJ creating a legend where you can make Michael Jordan (rookie version) into any NBA team. In the MJ creating a legend mode, you can develop Michael the way you want to such as improving his shooting skills, rebounding, assist, etc.

So far from what we've seen, the player movements are very fluid and very realistic. For example, when a player jump shots you can really see how they follow through the ball as well as their body movement that slowly waves down as they fall on their feet.

We think that this game would be a really good buy and there's a lot of features (certainly one is Michael Jordan) that would make you continue playing the game unlike other basketball games where the objective is just to score. The commentators don't sound repetitive, making you feel like you're in a real game.

NBA 2K11 release date is on October 5, 2010 for the PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and the PC.

Ys Seven PSP RPG Has Been Released!

Ys Seven or Ys 7 as some would put it, is a recently released action RPG for the PSP released last August 17, 2010, more than a year since it was released in Japan.

We've expressed  a lot of times here at Game Rumble before how we are great fans of this great series. Ys (pronounced as ees) is a long running series developed by Nihon Falcom and its roots can be traced back even before the NES days. The game is getting some good reception from RPG fans and was highly anticipated but old Ys fans.

Adol and Dogi (Adol's partner in crime and given with a brute force,wall-crashing strength) arrived in the kingdom of Altago, one of theregions in the world of ys. Adol and Dogi got caught up in some trouble with the Dragon Knights, Altago Kingdom's military force.

Eventually Adol and Dogi would learn about the five dragons guarded bythe five tribes of Edona (Sea), Shannoa (Earth), Segram (Flame), Kylos(Wind) and Iska (Moon) and so the story of the adventurer continues.

Ys Seven is an Ys game built from the ground up exclusively for the PSP.  Rather than just controlling Adol Christin, Adol may now switch with several party members on the fly. You run around with allies in a party of 3, one is your point and the other 2 are AI controlled. There are about 9 playable characters in the game including those whom we've seen in previous Ys games.

There are 3 basic attacks in Ys Seven which are slash, strike and pierce. Each characters are able to learn skills which are associated with the weapon you equip.

Like most RPG's shops are available for you to buy from or sell to. Ys Seven also introduces a synthesize system which allows you to create new items from items you get from defeating monsters.

Ys Seven has a limited collector's edition which comes with more stuff other then the game itself. The Collector's edition would include the game soundtrack, a 60 page art book, and a 12.5" cloth map of the Ys series.

Android Sony Ericsson Games Coming Our Way?

We might be getting Sony Ericsson Games for the Android platform as a report from engadget last August 11 suggest that an Sony Ericsson for the Android 3.0 gaming platform is under development. Rumors say that the upcoming smart phone will be a slider pretty much like the PSP Go.

The device will have a D-Pad which they say would be like a touchpad (like laptop touchpad?). The device will also have dedicated buttons for gaming just like the PSP buttons. The rumored Sony Ericsson Android device will be using Android Gingerbread which is the latest google operating system to date.

About how powerful the Sony Ericsson Smartphone will be... They say that it will be between the power of the PSX and the PSP to render full 3D games.
